Actresses Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are embroiled in a highly publicized legal battle over allegations of sexual harassment, with Lively seeking an enhanced protective order to shield sensitive information from discovery.
Lively’s lawyers submitted a proposal for the enhanced protective order on February 20, requesting that certain information be kept confidential due to its potentially “exposing” nature. They argued that disclosure could lead to threats and witness intimidation, particularly given high-profile individuals involved in the case.
However, Baldoni’s lawyers countered that Lively has already publicly disclosed details of her claims, making a protective order unnecessary. In a response letter on February 25, they stated that Lively’s request for privacy relies on misleading accusations spread by online content creators.
The amended complaint filed last week names two female costars from the movie “It Ends With Us” who allegedly have information about Baldoni. To protect these individuals from potential harm, Lively’s lawyers omitted their identities but received permission to share the substance of their communications.
Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman has questioned the credibility of Lively’s witnesses, suggesting they may no longer be willing to support her claims. The trial is scheduled for March 2026, with both parties trading accusations and counter-accusations in a case that highlights the complexities of high-profile legal disputes.
