Blake Lively Seeks Protective Order Amid Threats From Justin Baldoni’s Team

Blake Lively is seeking a court order to keep sensitive personal and financial information confidential in her ongoing lawsuit against director Justin Baldoni. Lively alleges that Baldoni engaged in sexual harassment on the set of their film “It Ends With Us” and retaliated by launching an online smear campaign.

Lively’s lawyers claim they have received violent threats, including messages threatening to sexually assault and kill family members, after texts were included in Baldoni’s amended lawsuit. They also report experiencing “pornographic trolling on Instagram.”

Baldoni’s team has responded by stating that they too have faced violent threats after Lively filed her complaint, and that private parties who were wrongfully accused received continuous death threats and visits to their homes.

A protective order is being sought to govern mutual discovery in the case. Lively’s proposed order would allow for more routine “attorneys’ eyes only” designation of sensitive information to prevent competitive, business, or financial harm. The standard court order allows this designation in extraordinary circumstances, but Lively’s team wants greater specificity and confidentiality.

The case involves several high-profile individuals, including actors Ryan Reynolds, who is married to Lively. The two sides have been battling in public and in court over issues such as out-of-court statements and subpoena scope. A proposed protective order must be submitted by March 11, according to Judge Lewis Liman’s request.
