Blake Lively is set to star in her upcoming film “Another Simple Favor”, a sequel to her 2018 movie of the same name. The thriller-comedy will premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas on March 7 and be available to stream on Prime Video from May 1.
Lively will reprise her role alongside costar Anna Kendrick and director Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids”), with the story following Emily Nelson as she heads to Italy for her extravagant wedding. The film promises a mix of glamour and murder, with a complex web of twists and turns.
The news comes as Lively is currently embroiled in a legal dispute over her 2024 film “It Ends With Us”, which adapted Colleen Hoover’s novel. She had accused co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation, sparking a civil lawsuit against her and husband Ryan Reynolds. However, Baldoni has denied the allegations and filed counter-lawsuits against Lively and her husband.
The first hearing in their dispute took place earlier this week, with a trial date set for spring 2026. Despite the ongoing controversy, fans can look forward to “Another Simple Favor” which promises to be an entertaining addition to Lively’s filmography.
