Blake Lively’s Team Fires Back at Justin Baldoni’s $400 Million Lawsuit

Blake Lively’s lawyer has fired a shot across Justin Baldoni’s bow, labeling his $400 million lawsuit against the actress as “an age-old story” and claiming he is trying to shift the narrative to blame Lively for her allegations of sexual harassment. In a statement, Lively’s team described Baldoni’s actions as an attempt to retaliate against women who speak up about misconduct.

According to the statement, Lively was not at fault in the situation, but rather the victim who “shifts the narrative from abuse to blame”. The team also claimed that Sony Pictures asked Lively to oversee their cut of the film and selected it for distribution, which was a resounding success.

The lawsuit filed by Baldoni claims defamation, extortion, and breach of contract among other things. However, Lively’s team claims there is evidence showing that Baldoni had negative interactions with cast members and that Sony Pictures was involved in selecting the final version of the film.

Baldioni also recently sued The New York Times for $250 million over an article covering Lively’s complaint. The lawsuit alleges the publication used “cherry-picked” and altered communications stripped of necessary context and deliberately spliced to mislead.

The situation has sparked a heated debate, with many calling out Baldoni’s actions as a form of retaliation against women who speak up about misconduct.
