A total lunar eclipse, also known as the “Blood Moon,” will be visible in the US tonight. The event is set to begin at 10:57 p.m. CT and last until approximately 5 a.m. CT on March 14.
The moon will pass through Earth’s shadow, blocking sunlight and giving it a reddish-orange hue. This phenomenon occurs when the full moon aligns perfectly with the Earth and the sun. The eclipse will be visible across the US, including Texas, which is in its path for the entire duration.
However, due to mostly cloudy skies expected in most of Texas, viewing conditions may be less than ideal. In Texas, the moon’s peak redness will occur at 1:58 a.m. CT, but the eclipse will still be visible throughout the state from start to finish.
