NASA, SpaceX, and Firefly Aerospace are set to launch the Blue Ghost Mission 1 on January 15, marking a significant step in lunar exploration. The mission aims to deploy ten innovative instruments designed to expand our understanding of the Moon.
The launch will take place at 1:11 a.m. EST from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Firefly’s Blue Ghost lander will be propelled by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, carrying a payload of NASA science instruments and technology demonstrations.
As part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative and the Artemis campaign, this mission represents a collaboration between US companies to advance lunar science and technology.
