Blue Origin Space Tourism Trip Sparks Backlash

Jeff Bezos’ recent space tourism trip with a group of women, including his fiancée Lauren Sánchez and pop star Katy Perry, has been met with criticism instead of expected excitement.

The outing, which aimed to promote “performative femiladyism,” featured the women wearing “space suits” that required additional support. The group claimed they would be experiencing “lash extensions flying in the capsule” and “putting the ‘ass’ in astronaut.” However, many people have mocked Perry’s enthusiasm for space-related topics on social media, with some even suggesting the trip was staged.

The incident has also raised questions about Bezos’ own role in the event. Video footage appears to show him falling on his face during a Texas launch attempt. The authenticity of the capsule door opening is also disputed. Social media debates have emerged over whether the women were passengers or crew members.

Critics argue that the trip showcased the “utter defeat of American feminism.” NASA’s ISS requires astronauts to maintain muscle mass, including regular exercise sessions. Under normal circumstances, Perry and Sánchez would be criticized for their lack of originality in discussing space tourism as a way to reclaim science for women.
