Blue Origin’s NS-35 Launch Scrubbed Due to Avionics Issue

Blue Origin has scrubbed today’s NS-35 launch attempt due to an issue with the booster’s avionics. The team is continuing to troubleshoot the problem and will determine the next launch opportunity.

The mission, scheduled for August 23, aimed to fly more than 40 scientific and research payloads to space, including 24 experiments from NASA’s TechRise Student Challenge. These experiments were designed by students in grades 6-12 at U.S. schools to gain critical skills in engineering, computing, electronics, and more.

The launch was originally set for Saturday, August 23, with a window opening at 7:30 AM CDT / 1230 UTC from Launch Site One in West Texas. The webcast will begin 15 minutes before liftoff.

Other payloads on board included experiments from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Oklahoma State University, and Carthage College, among others. These experiments were designed to test new alternatives to measure spacecraft propellant levels in microgravity and detect the liquid-vapor interface in spacecraft fuel tanks during microgravity.

Blue Origin’s next launch attempt will be tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26, with a new launch window opening at 7:30 AM CDT / 1230 UTC. Watch the live webcast starting 15 minutes before liftoff to catch the latest updates on NS-35.
