Blues Tied for Longest NHL Streak as they Win 11th Straight Game

The St. Louis Blues have made history again by setting a new franchise record for their 10th consecutive home win, while also tying a franchise record with their 11th straight win overall. The team defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in overtime on Thursday.

With this win, the Blues reached the 11-game mark just once before, which was from January to February of 2019. They now share the longest win streak in the NHL this season with Winnipeg and are the longest active win streak.

Forward Robert Thomas scored the game-winning goal in overtime, his seventh goal of the season. The victory marked Thomas’s fifth game-winning goal of the year. He currently leads the League with 30 points (seven goals, 23 assists) since the break.

However, the team is facing injuries to Dylan Holloway and Alexandre Texier, who suffered lower-body and upper-body issues respectively. Head Coach Jim Montgomery has ruled them out for at least the next two games.

In other NHL news, the Colorado Avalanche clinched their spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 7-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. The Avalanche are now 5-1-1 in their last seven games overall and currently rank third in the Central Division but fifth overall in the League.

Their 98 points put them seventh ahead of the Blues for the top Wild Card spot, six behind Dallas for the No. 2 seed. If the playoffs started today, the Avalanche would face the Stars, while the Blues would match up with the Golden Knights.
