A new photo-sharing app, Flashes, has launched on the App Store for Bluesky users. Created by Sebastian Vogelsang, Flashes offers a dedicated visual storytelling experience, allowing users to share up to four photos or one-minute videos in a single post.
Users can customize their profiles with “Portfolio” mode, curating which media appears to visitors. The app also provides features like hiding engagement metrics and an alt-text generator for images. Future updates will include post editing, notifications, bookmarks, and drafts.
Bluesky’s decentralized platform ensures users retain full ownership of their content. Flashes aims to provide a home for visual creators on Bluesky, offering an intuitive, visual-first experience that prioritizes user choice and content ownership. The app has seen immense success in its beta test, gaining over 68,000 followers within two weeks of launch.
