Beloved animated series “Bluey” is set to make its big-screen debut, with the first-ever feature film scheduled for release in 2027. BBC Studios and Disney are teaming up to bring the popular Australian preschool series to theaters worldwide.
The film will be written and directed by Joe Brumm, the show’s creator. According to Brumm, he aims to create an “experiential event” that families can enjoy together on the big screen. This move comes after the success of a shorter format in the form of “The Sign” in Series 3.
“Bluey,” which premiered in 2018 and airs worldwide on Disney+, has won numerous awards, including a Peabody, BAFTA, Emmy, and multiple Logies. The series follows Bluey and her family as they go on adventures together, showcasing the young blue heeler pup’s imagination and curiosity.
