A car accident occurred on Santa Monica Boulevard last Thursday night, resulting in a BMW driver being hospitalized. The vehicle lost control and crashed into the Sir Speedy copy shop building around 11 p.m.
The scene showed significant damage to both the BMW and the building. Witnesses reported that the driver was rescued from the vehicle but described him as looking stunned due to his injuries.
No one was inside the building when the accident happened, but a family living in an upstairs apartment had to be evacuated. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, with police unsure if the driver’s actions were related to a medical emergency or substance use.
Temporary beams have been installed at the scene to prevent further damage, and building inspectors are being called in to assess the property.
