BMW has unveiled its new entry-level customer racing platform, the M2 Racing, set to debut in 2026. Based on the G87-spec M2, the car boasts a 2.0-liter inline-four engine producing 313 horsepower and 420 Nm. Weighing 1,498 kilograms, it features a seven-speed transmission and non-adjustable shock absorbers.
The base price of €98,000 ($111,178 USD) in Europe makes it an attractive option for grassroots motorsport. BMW M Motorsport’s Head of Customer Racing, Bjoern Lellmann, notes that the car combines driving pleasure with performance and intuitive handling. Development began in November 2023, with a test mule covering over 30,000 kilometers.
The M2 Racing is eligible for various global races, including the Nürburgring 24, NLS, TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School, and the Michelin 24H Series.
