BMW has unveiled a new concept car called the Speedtop, which is essentially a shooting brake version of the Skytop. The company plans to produce 70 units of the Speedtop, and it will be available for order now. The Speedtop looks stunning and shares its design with the Skytop from the A-pillar forward.
The main differences between the two cars are at the roofline and rear end. The tailgate is raked steeply forward, and there’s a sharp spoiler on the edge of the roof. The interior features a familiar BMW 8 Series design with some nice twists, including a unique color scheme and details.
BMW has not revealed any specifications for the Speedtop beyond saying it will have “the most powerful V8 engine” available in the company’s lineup. It’s expected to be at least as expensive as the Skytop, which starts at around $500,000.
The Speedtop is designed to make a statement and is described by BMW as perfect for a two-person weekend getaway. With its athletic profile, elegant design, and advanced features, it’s sure to generate significant interest among car enthusiasts.
