Bo Nix: Denver Broncos’ Future Depends on QB’s Sophomore Leap

Denver Broncos head into 2025 with a strong foundation, but to repeat last year’s postseason appearance, quarterback Bo Nix must improve significantly. As a rookie, Nix showed promising development, but struggled in the early weeks. However, as the season progressed, he grew more comfortable under Sean Payton’s scheme, displaying improved mobility and accuracy.

Nix’s growth has caught the attention of teammates, including star corner Patrick Surtain II, who says his confidence is higher going into 2025. “He’s a tremendous leader and player,” Surtain said. The Broncos assembled support around Nix, with a strong offensive line, additions to the backfield, and signing of tight end Evan Engram.

While the defense appears stacked on paper, led by Surtain, the real question mark is at receiver behind Courtland Sutton. Rookie Pat Bryant could emerge as a preseason standout. To become contenders in the AFC West, Nix must take another significant leap forward in Year 2, addressing his accuracy and ability to throw under pressure.
