Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix revealed on Monday that he played part of his rookie season with transverse process fractures in his back. The injury occurred during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders on November 24, where Nix suffered three process fractures. Despite the injury, Nix received treatment and continued to play, helping the Broncos win the game 29-19.
Nix’s injury was not severe enough to keep him out of the lineup, and he went on to have a successful season, passing for 3,775 yards with 29 touchdown passes. He also helped the Broncos reach the postseason for the first time since 2015. When asked about playing through the injury, Nix said, “It was annoying, but we all play with annoying ailments.”
