The lyrics of Bob Dylan’s iconic song “Mr. Tambourine Man” have been sold to a collector in Nashville for $508,000. The typed “progressive lyrics,” with hand-written annotations by Dylan on the third draft, were part of former music journalist Al Aronowitz’s collection up for auction at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. The sale, sponsored by Julien’s Auctions, brought in nearly $1.5 million from collectors worldwide. Other notable items sold included a 1968 abstract oil painting by Dylan ($260,000), his Fender Telecaster guitar ($222,250), and a sketch of himself drawn on a Plaza Hotel memo pad ($88,900).
