Bobby Wagner Re-signs with Washington Commanders for $9.5M Deal

Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner is staying with the Washington Commanders after re-signing on a one-year deal worth up to $9.5 million. The contract includes $8 million in guaranteed money, according to sources.

Wagner’s decision follows his former Seahawks coach Dan Quinn joining the Commanders’ staff last year. The linebacker signed a one-year deal in 2024 with roughly $6.06 million in guaranteed money but proved himself worth more by earning a Pro Bowl nomination and All-Pro selection. As a result, his guaranteed total increased by nearly $2 million.

With Wagner at the helm, Washington’s defense performed well under Quinn’s scheme, helping the team exceed expectations. The Commanders earned a wild-card spot and scored upsets over Tampa Bay and Detroit before falling short in the NFC Championship Game.

At 34 years old, Wagner has shown he still has plenty of football left in him. His decision to re-sign with Washington marks a significant move for the veteran linebacker, who will aim to lead the team back to the Super Bowl.
