Boebert’s Discharge Petition on Epstein Files Stays Put Despite Trump Push

Representative Lauren Boebert has kept her name on a discharge petition that would force the release of investigative files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, despite a last-minute push from President Donald Trump.

Boebert met with White House officials at the White House to discuss transparency and the process of releasing the files without going through GOP leadership. The meeting was confirmed by the White House, saying it aimed to increase transparency.

However, some have accused the administration of trying to persuade Boebert to drop her name from the petition. But Boebert claims she felt no pressure during their conversation.

Boebert joined a bipartisan group of Republicans and Democrats who signed the discharge petition, which now has 219 signatures needed to move forward. The bill would be up for vote next week if it passes in the House.
