Boeing Faces Heavy Tariffs Impact from US Trade Measures

China’s Commerce Ministry has stated that US-imposed tariffs on Chinese airlines and Boeing have had a severe impact, disrupting global supply chains, air transport, and investment activities. The ministry hopes Washington will create a stable trade environment and listen to companies’ concerns.

In response to the return of three 737 MAX planes from China to the US, Beijing expressed support for normal business cooperation between the two countries. However, the ministry emphasized that China is concerned about the trade war’s fallout and has exempted some US imports from its tariffs.

French aircraft engine maker Safran recently received news that China had granted tariff exemptions on certain aerospace equipment parts, including engines and landing gear. The Commerce Ministry urged Washington to create a predictable environment for trade and investment, citing disrupted global supply chains as a result of the tariffs.
