Boise State Wins Mountain West Championship, Secures College Football Playoff Spot

Boise State secured its spot in the College Football Playoff with a 21-7 win over UNLV on Friday. The No. 10 Broncos, led by Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty, dominated the game and improved their chances of reaching the national championship.

Jeanty’s impressive performance, which included a 75-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, stole the show. He rushed for 209 yards and one touchdown, further solidifying his case for the Heisman Award.

The Broncos’ defense also played a crucial role in the win, holding UNLV to just seven points – their lowest total this season. The Rebels struggled to score, with UNLV’s Greg Burrell scoring the team’s only touchdown on a 31-yard run.

Boise State head coach Barry Odom was impressed with his team, saying “I think they’re one of the best teams in college football right now… They’re built to make a run.” The Broncos’ win marks their first conference championship under Odom’s leadership.

With the College Football Playoff spot secured, Boise State will face stiff competition from other top-ranked teams. However, Jeanty’s impressive performance and the Broncos’ dominant defense have set the stage for a strong playoff push.
