Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has confirmed that this will be his last season with the team, despite being a Heisman Trophy candidate. With 2,288 yards and 28 total touchdowns, Jeanty is expected to enter the NFL draft after a record-setting season.
Jeanty needs just 341 yards to break Barry Sanders’ all-time single-season rushing record, but will have at least two more games to make his case for the award. Friday’s Mountain West title game against UNLV will be his last chance to showcase his skills.
“I feel like I’m the best player in the country,” Jeanty said, emphasizing his focus on playing well for his teammates and coaches. The Broncos, who have lost only once this season, host UNLV with a nationally televised audience watching.
