Boy Breaks 50 Father’s SSDs Worth $4,000 at Age 10

A 10-year-old boy has broken nearly $4,000 worth of his father’s Samsung M.2 NVMe SSDs, destroying 25,600 GB of storage. The boy was “oblivious to the world’s global NAND crisis” and intentionally damaged the drives.

The incident occurred when the boy decided to test the durability of the SSDs, resulting in severe damage to all 50 units. Each drive had a value of approximately $76, with the total damage worth around $3,800 if they were not crushed or bent beyond repair.

However, some experts believe that some of the damaged drives might still be functional, depending on how much damage was caused and whether any critical components were affected. The father has expressed frustration and disappointment in his post on social media, calling the boy’s actions “miserable.”

The incident highlights the importance of teaching children about responsibility and the consequences of their actions, especially when it comes to handling sensitive electronics.
