A small plane crashed in Gramado, Brazil on Sunday, killing 10 people, including nine family members. The pilot, Luiz Claudio Salgueiro Galeazzi, was also among the victims. The aircraft went down in a popular shopping area just three kilometers from takeoff point Canela.
At least 17 others who were Christmas shopping in the area were injured, with two women suffering life-threatening injuries. The plane had taken off bound for Jundiai in São Paulo state but crashed prematurely. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
