Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized with severe abdominal pain, according to opposition leader Rogério Marinho. This comes after a recent party event in Rio Grande do Norte.
Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen by an attacker in 2018 while campaigning and underwent multiple surgeries since then. He lost his re-election bid to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in October 2022. The Supreme Court recently allowed charges against Bolsonaro and seven alleged co-conspirators to proceed, potentially leading to several years of prison time if convicted.
