“Breaking Bad” Home Sells for $4 Million After Years of Fan Intrusion

A now-infamous Albuquerque, NM home, which served as the exterior of Walter White’s residence in the hit series “Breaking Bad,” has been put on the market for $4 million. The 1,900-square-foot property, which has been in the family since 1973, was sold by homeowner Joanne Quintana after years of dealing with enthusiastic but intrusive fans.

Quintana grew up in the modest four-bedroom home and initially enjoyed the attention from “Breaking Bad” producers and fans. However, as the series gained popularity, so did the number of visitors arriving at the property. The situation became increasingly brazen, with some fans throwing pizzas onto the roof in an attempt to reenact iconic scenes.

Quintana’s family erected a fence around the property to deter visitors, but it had little effect. The current owner expressed frustration and concern for her parents’ health, who were struggling with illnesses at the time. She has now decided to move on and hopes that the new buyer will turn the property into a themed vacation rental or museum.

Quintana shared fond memories of working with the cast and crew, including Bryan Cranston, who she met when he visited the home. The actress also revealed that the crew had dozens of pizzas prepared in case Cranston failed to toss a pizza onto the roof during filming. According to Quintana, Cranston was a natural and got it on the first try.
