Bridges Nails Game-Winner as Knicks Win OT Thriller

New York Knicks guard Mikal Bridges hit a 25-foot three-pointer at the buzzer to give the team a 114-113 overtime win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. The thrilling victory marked the Knicks’ second consecutive win and improved their record to 2-2 on their five-game West Coast trip.

Bridges finished with 33 points, while AG Anunoby added 23 points for New York. Scoot Henderson led Portland with 30 points, but the Trail Blazers lost their fifth straight game. Deni Avdija had a memorable moment in overtime, scoring a three-point play to give his team a brief lead before Bridges’ game-winning shot.

The win helped the Knicks salvage some hope after star point guard Jalen Brunson was expected to miss at least two weeks with a right ankle sprain. With this victory, New York pulled within 4 1/2 games of the Celtics in the Atlantic Division. The Trail Blazers will face an uphill battle over their next six games if they want to make the postseason.

The Knicks and Trail Blazers are set to conclude their respective five-game West Coast trips on Saturday night and Sunday night, respectively.
