Brilliant Labs, the startup behind Frame, has launched its second-generation smart glasses, Halo. The new device boasts a sleek wayfarer-style design and comes equipped with a camera, microphone, and bone-conduction speakers. Weighing in at 40 grams, Halo’s slim profile is a notable achievement, especially considering its color OLED display and battery life of up to 14 hours.
One of the standout features of Halo is its AI assistant, Noa, which claims to offer natural and intuitive conversations. Noa uses advanced audio and visual processing to provide contextually relevant information in real-time. The company also promises an “agentic memory system” called Narrative, which will remember user interactions for years or even decades.
However, concerns about privacy are inevitable with AI-enabled smart glasses. Brilliant assures users that Noa acts as a VPN between the user’s data and the AI model, providing fine-grain controls to manage data sharing. Users can also turn off the microphone, camera, and glasses themselves via voice commands.
Pre-orders for Halo are now open, with shipping expected in late November 2025. The device will retail for $299, compatible prescription lenses available through SmartBuyGlasses. A limited number of pairs will be released, so interested users must act quickly to secure a pair.
