Brilliant Labs, the company behind developer kit Monocle and frames-like device Frame, is set to launch its next-generation smart glasses at the end of this month. The new device marks the company’s third product since its founding in 2019.
The upcoming smart glasses build upon the success of Frame, which featured a single camera sensor, AI-powered assistant, and real-time internet search capabilities. Brilliant Labs’ latest device promises to deliver similar features with an improved design, shedding its old-school frame shape for a more modern aesthetic.
As the competition heats up in the smart glasses segment, other major players like Meta, Google, and Xiaomi are also working on their own next-gen products. Meta’s Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses and Xiaomi’s AI Glasses are already available, while Google’s Android XR-based smart glasses are slated for release in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.
Brilliant Labs’ CEO Bobak Tavangar will participate in a launch day Q&A session on the augmented reality subreddit, providing fans with an exclusive glimpse of the device. With its July 31st launch date approaching, enthusiasts can expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
