Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin, recently opened up about her experience with facial paralysis on her Instagram Stories. The 34-year-old shared that she began noticing a “weird sensation” in her face over a week ago and initially thought it was just a minor issue.
However, as the condition worsened, Bristol described feeling numbness and paralysis on one side of her face, making it difficult to blink or move. She explained that she visited her doctor and underwent tests, including a CT scan, but the results showed nothing conclusive.
Doctors believed that her facial paralysis could be caused by Bell’s palsy, a temporary condition resulting from various factors such as infection, high blood pressure, or stress. Bristol credited “eastern medicine” and acupuncture for helping alleviate her symptoms, which she believes has accelerated her recovery process.
As of day eight, Bristol reported a significant improvement in her condition, noting that some sensation is returning to her face. She acknowledged the temporary discomfort but expressed gratitude for the progress made so far, saying it’s given her a new perspective on appreciating her normal functioning face.
