Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton has reached a four-year, $92 million extension deal, sources informed by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported Monday. The new agreement keeps Sutton tied for 18th among wide receivers with Calvin Ridley. With the deal, Sutton’s base salary jumps to $23 million per year, providing a significant pay bump from his previous $13.75 million-per-year contract.
Sutton turned 30 in October and was set to enter his final year under his revised 2024 contract. The Broncos were confident in locking him up long-term following his bounce-back season in 2023, where he generated 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns on a career-high 81 catches. After missing the entire 2020 season due to an ACL tear, Sutton has regained form under Sean Payton’s offense as the lead dog.
The extension ensures that quarterback Bo Nix has a reliable go-to sideline pass catcher for years to come. With the rest of the receiving corps battling for reps in 2025, Sutton’s long-term security provides stability and allows Nix to build upon his partnership with the veteran receiver.
