The Denver Broncos have signed two-time Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram to a two-year deal worth $23 million, according to his agent. The contract includes $16.5 million in guaranteed funds.
Engram’s signing is the team’s first significant move to improve its offense and add skills around rookie quarterback Bo Nix. The 30-year-old tight end will join his fourth first-round starting quarterback after previously playing with Eli Manning and Daniel Jones.
The Broncos lost Adam Trautman as their starting tight end, who had a limited season last year. Engram’s addition is expected to bolster the team’s receiving corps at tight end. In his previous stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Engram recorded 187 receptions for 1,729 yards and eight touchdowns in two seasons.
Engram’s signing is seen as a step towards rebuilding the Broncos’ offense around Nix. With Javonte Williams gone at running back and the wide receiver room needing additions, Engram provides an essential skill that the team has lacked. The tight end will aim to return to form after a disappointing 2024 season.
