Brooks & Dunn Singer Ronnie Dunn Sidelined Due to Illness

Country music singer Ronnie Dunn, 71, unexpectedly stopped a performance in Indianapolis during the band’s concert at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on April 3. Attendees were left concerned when Dunn walked off stage during an encore performance of their hit song “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”. Fans reported that Dunn sounded “winded” and was seen sitting down during the show.

Dunn had been battling strep throat and COVID-19 in recent weeks, but his latest post on April 3 made no mention of his illness. The singer has been touring with his bandmate Kix Brooks as part of their Neon Moon tour, which continues on April 24 in Iowa before visiting Missouri, Kentucky, Texas, and more.

The band released their latest album Reboot II in November 2024 and has hinted at exploring other creative projects throughout the year. Dunn’s sudden exit from the concert has raised questions about his health, but reps for Brooks & Dunn have not commented on the matter.
