A nationwide recall of brown eggs has been issued due to a salmonella outbreak, affecting over 1.9 million dozen eggs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has linked the outbreak to 79 cases, including 21 hospitalizations.
The recall was triggered by contaminated eggs sold under various brand names, including Clover, First Street, Nulaid, O Organics, Marketside, Raleys, Simple Truth, Sun Harvest, and Sunnyside. Affected states include California, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois.
Consumers can identify the recalled eggs by the plant code on one side of the egg carton. They can return the eggs to the place of purchase for a refund or call 1-800-710-2554 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT for more information.
