Brown University Shooting Suspect Caught After MIT Professors’ Homicide Ties Revealed

Law enforcement closed in on the Brown University shooting suspect after emerging ties between the attack and a killing two days later of an MIT professor at his Massachusetts home. Claudio Neves Valente, a 48-year-old former student and Portuguese national with no US record, was found dead in a New Hampshire storage facility. Authorities believe he acted alone and targeted Nuno Loureiro, the MIT professor fatally shot at his home. The suspect’s actions were linked by a rental car, financial probe, and security footage, but investigators initially struggled to connect the crimes due to an untraceable phone used by Neves Valente.
