Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Set for Preseason Debut

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders will make his NFL preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night. Sanders, a fifth-round pick from Jackson State, is expected to see significant playing time after the team signed free agent Tyler Huntley earlier in the week due to injuries at quarterback. Coach Kevin Stefanski has stated that Sanders and Huntley are the only quarterbacks expected to play.

Sanders’ father, Deion Sanders, expressed confidence in his son’s preparation for the game. “He’s always approached everything like this is it,” he said. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound quarterback played in 50 college games, completing over 70% of his passes and throwing for 14,353 yards.

The Browns are using Sanders as a precautionary measure while the team evaluates its starter situation. Joe Flacco is expected to be the regular-season starter despite being healthy enough to play. The Panthers will counter with quarterback Bryce Young against their first-team defense.
