Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique strain during a joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday. Initially held out of the remainder of the practice, further medical evaluation confirmed the injury. The team is currently considering a day-to-day status for Sanders, who will not participate in the second joint practice on August 14 and may also sit out the second preseason game against the Eagles on August 16.
This latest injury adds to the quarterback room’s injury woes, following recent hamstring issues for quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel. Pickett has made a slow recovery from his July 26 injury, while Gabriel is returning after taking time off due to hamstring tightness. The Browns’ depth at quarterback will be put to the test as they navigate the preseason schedule.
