The Broward State Attorney’s Office has declined to pursue charges against Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins over an alleged domestic incident in South Florida last month. The decision comes after a review of police reports, body-worn camera videos, video surveillance footage, phone records, and the sworn statement of the woman he allegedly struck.
According to an arrest report, Judkins was involved in a altercation with his family member at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport five days before his arrest on July 12. The incident allegedly occurred when Judkins punched the woman after reading text messages from his family, causing bruising on her chin and arm.
Despite video evidence showing no injuries to the victim during the alleged incident time frame, investigators found that the woman had photos displaying bruising, which could be explained by either account of the incident. The case was also marked by a delayed report, with the victim choosing not to report the incident at the time.
The NFL has stated that it is following developments in the matter, which remains under review. Judkins, one of several unsigned members of this year’s draft class, is currently awaiting resolution on his legal situation, despite previous assurances from team owner Jimmy Haslam and general manager Andrew Berry about his chances of playing for the Browns in 2025.
