Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to play in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Sanders will take the field, despite an oblique strain that forced him to sit out joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles and a previous game.
Sanders’ teammate, rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond, will also play in the game after practicing this week. Meanwhile, quarterback Kenny Pickett has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
In a recent interview, rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel mentioned that his comments about “tuning out the noise” surrounding the quarterbacks’ competition were directed at the media, not his teammate Sanders. However, Sanders has expressed that he doesn’t take Gabriel’s words personally and is focused on his own performance.
Stefanski plans to play the team’s starters in the game, with Sanders set to play third behind newly named starting quarterback Joe Flacco. The coaching staff is preparing for Saturday’s game, with an emphasis on finding a balance between competition and experience.
