Browns Wrap Up Successful Draft Weekend with 7 Rookies

The Cleveland Browns have completed a successful draft weekend, welcoming seven rookies to the team. The signings of DT Mason Graham, LB Carson Schwesinger, RB Quinshon Judson, TE Harold Fannin Jr., QB Dillon Gabriel, RB Dylan Sampson and QB Shedeur Sanders address different areas of the roster.

Rookie minicamp is set for May 9-11 at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus. The newest members will face their first challenge in team training, following a weekend of drafting key players.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Andrew Berry addressed fan questions about the draft picks. Berry explained that the Browns don’t approach the draft with specific positions in mind but rather look for the best player available while also considering positional value. In the case of Shedeur Sanders, they took a chance on him in the fifth round after he fell to 144th overall.

Berry praised both Gabriel and Sanders, citing their accuracy and decision-making skills as strengths. Both players will compete among the quarterbacks, including veteran Joe Flacco and new arrival Kenny Pickett.

As the Browns head into the offseason, they face several pressing needs, including addressing safety and wide receiver positions. With Rodney McLeod’s retirement, the team could benefit from another depth piece at safety. The receiving corps is also a concern, with Jerry Jeudy leading the way but lacking additional talent.

Kenny Pickett brings experience to the quarterback room, having played in two separate teams over three years. Berry sees physical ability in Pickett and believes he will be able to make an impact with the Browns.
