Bruce Glover, Iconic James Bond Villain, Dies at 92

Bruce Herbert Glover, the actor who played iconic villain Mr. Wint in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever, has passed away on March 12th at the age of 92. His son Crispin Glover shared the news on Instagram.

Glover had a long and varied career, appearing in over 200 films and TV shows, including Walking Tall, Chinatown, and Hard Times. He was a natural performer who never attended acting school but taught acting throughout his career.

Born in Chicago in 1932, Glover began performing at an early age, studying Bushman the gorilla for his first acting lesson. He served in the U.S. Army before moving to New York, where he worked on Broadway and TV shows. His breakout role as Mr. Wint opposite Putter Smith’s Mr. Kidd in Diamonds Are Forever cemented his status as a villainous icon.

Glover continued to act throughout his life, appearing in numerous films and TV shows, including Ghost World and Murder, She Wrote. He was married for 56 years and died on the same day he shared about facing death and finding humor in it, as he once said, “Live it til the end and laugh when you can.”
