Buccaneers Waive Defensive Back Shilo Sanders After Ejection

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly waived defensive back Shilo Sanders, following his ejection from Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The team is trimming its roster down to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon. Sanders was competing for a spot as one of the safeties on the roster behind Antoine Winfield Jr.

A fight with Bills tight end Zach Davidson may have contributed to the decision, with coach Todd Bowles condemning the action as “inexcusable”. The Buccaneers organization had initially considered Sanders for a role on the team before the incident. Sanders, the son of former NFL star Deion Sanders, joined the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent and played 21 games for Colorado between 2023 and 2024, recording 137 tackles and one interception.
