Sacramento Kings’ Buddy Hield came close to winning the 2025 NBA 3-Point Contest, finishing as the runner-up behind Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro. Despite a strong first-round performance, Hield fell short with 23 points, just one point shy of Herro’s 24.
Hield, who started slowly before heating up in his final rack, had a career-best score in the first round. However, he missed all five shots in his opening rack and didn’t make his first shot until the eighth attempt. He still managed to stay positive, saying it was “tough one” but ultimately disappointed with the outcome.
The contest, held at Chase Center in San Francisco, marked a special moment for Hield as it’s one of three NBA All-Star events he plays in each season. The Kings’ star shooter expressed his gratitude for competing in front of his home crowd and hopes to bring energy to the event next year.
Although Hield didn’t win the contest, he will head back home to the Bahamas for a mental reset before refocusing on the upcoming season with the new-look Warriors.
