Buffalo Bills Prepare for Detroit Lions, Focused on Redemption

Buffalo defensive coordinator Bobby Babich described his team’s performance in last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams as a “recipe for losing.” The Bills will face the Detroit Lions this Sunday, looking to bounce back from their fifth straight loss.

Babich expects his defense to respond better against the Lions’ high-powered offense, which ranks No. 1 in scoring. According to Babich, Buffalo’s defense needs to get back to its basics and make game-changing plays.

Meanwhile, head coach Sean McDermott praised quarterback Jared Goff, saying he’s a player who is “really in sync” with his team’s offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. The Bills will face the Lions’ creative offense, which McDermott believes is due to credit to Johnson and head coach Dan Campbell.

McDermott also highlighted the importance of Detroit’s play-action pass game and screen game, which he says protects Goff well.

Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady echoed McDermott’s praise for Campbell, saying “Dan is as good as it gets.” Brady shared his own experiences working with Campbell in New Orleans and believes the coach sees football in an incredible way.

The Lions boast the best running back duo in the NFL, featuring David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Buffalo’s defense will need to focus on its fundamentals to stop the duo, which has combined for 24 total touchdowns this season.

“We just got to get back to our basics,” Babich said about his team’s approach to stopping Detroit’s running backs. “There’s a lot of good running backs in this league, but we believe our guys are up to the challenge.”

Overall, the Bills will face a tough test against the Lions’ high-powered offense and stingy defense. With their focus on redemption and fundamentals, Buffalo is looking to bounce back from last week’s loss and make some game-changing plays of its own.
