Bulls edge Blazers in close contest behind White and Vucevic

The Chicago Bulls edged the Portland Trail Blazers 118-113 on Friday night, thanks to a strong performance from Coby White and Nikola Vucevic. Both players scored 31 points, with Josh Giddey adding his sixth triple-double of the season with 15 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 assists.

The Bulls started strong, taking an early lead behind Vucevic’s paint presence. However, the Blazers fought back in the first half, thanks to Deni Avdija’s 37 points and Dalano Banton’s 21 points. Portland managed to slice a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but ultimately fell short.

Giddey had a career-best performance for Chicago, with 10 points and eight rebounds in the third quarter. White hit his third three-pointer to increase the Bulls’ lead, but it was later taken away due to a disputed out-of-bounds call. The Blazers capitalized on the mistake, but ultimately couldn’t overcome their poor shooting.

The loss drops Portland to 34-44, while Chicago moves up to ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 35-42 record.
