Burglar Returns to The Sims 4 After 11 Years

The Sims 4 has finally added the iconic burglar after 11 years, bringing back a beloved feature that fans have been missing for over a decade. The new burglar, named Robin Banks, will behave similarly to her predecessors, sneaking into homes at night and stealing valuables.

Residents can potentially stop the burglars by calling the police before they flee, or by installing the purchasable burglar alarm, which guarantees timely arrival of law enforcement. A suitably equipped alarm can also zap passing burglars, causing them to drop their stolen goods.

The addition includes new interactions, reactions, and game mechanics, such as Sims fighting off burglars in one-on-one battles. Players can also use various items to deter or capture the burglars, including spellcasters’ magic, werewolves’ intimidation, and scientists’ Freeze Ray.

While burglar visits will be rare by default, players can increase their frequency by activating a challenge that causes more frequent break-ins. The new feature is part of a free update, released as part of The Sims 4’s latest update, paving the way for an upcoming expansion pack launching on March 6th.

The return of the burglar marks a significant milestone in The Sims series’ quarter-century anniversary celebrations, which include remasters of classic games and various events.
