China’s BYD electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer has secured a major order of 100,000 vehicles from its newly operational factory in Brazil. The export order will be split evenly between Argentina and Mexico, with each country receiving 50,000 cars.
The shipment highlights BYD’s plans to use the Brazilian market as a key export route for its EVs. This move comes as Tesla, BYD’s main Chinese rival, continues to expand its global presence.
BYD has been actively seeking to increase its sales in emerging markets, where demand for electric vehicles is growing rapidly. The company’s Camacari factory in Brazil will be responsible for producing these cars, marking a significant milestone in BYD’s efforts to establish itself as a major player in the global EV market.
