BYD Unveils Advanced Driver Assistance System for Global Market

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has unveiled “God’s Eye,” an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) designed to be installed on all of its models, including the $9,600 Seagull hatchback. The system enables tasks typically reserved for luxury EVs, such as remote parking and highway autonomous navigation.

According to Wang Chuanfu, BYD founder, the company is entering an era where autonomous driving is becoming increasingly accessible. This move comes as BYD competes with Tesla in China, a market crucial to its growth. BYD’s introduction of “God’s Eye” also coincides with Tesla’s efforts to gain approval from Beijing regulators for its “Full Self-Driving” technology.

Furthermore, BYD has partnered with Chinese AI startup DeepSeek to integrate its AI capabilities into its vehicles. This collaboration joins other local automakers, including Geely and Great Wall Motor, in leveraging DeepSeek’s technology to enhance their offerings.
