Cal Boyington, a veteran talent agent and producer in the entertainment industry, has passed away at the age of 53. He co-founded Vital Artists Agency with Rebel Entertainment senior unscripted agents Phil Irven and April Yuan in late 2020. As part of the founding team, they went their separate ways last year, with Boyington taking sole ownership of the company name, trademark, and logo.
Boyington had a successful career in various roles, including working at ICM Partners, Mandolin Entertainment, and Paradigm Talent Agency. He was known for his boundless energy, magnetic personality, and his ability to pack TV shows and series, including Comedy Central’s Workaholics, which he executive produced.
The news of Boyington’s death comes pending a cause, according to his brother B.G. Dickey. He is survived by his parents Mike Boyington and Travis “Penny” Farrar, as well as his brother and other family members.
