CalDigit has upgraded its larger docks with Thunderbolt 5 technology, offering more ports at competitive prices. The TS5 Plus dock features 20 ports, including three Thunderbolt 5 ports and five USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, while the TS5 model offers 15 ports for $369.99. The new docks boast faster transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps and increased power delivery capabilities.
The TS5 Plus will be available in late April 2025 at $499.99, featuring three Thunderbolt 5 ports, five USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, five USB-A ports, SD and microSD memory card slots, a 10Gb ethernet port, and a headphone jack. This dock is said to feature dual 10Gb/s USB controllers, allowing for increased USB bandwidth.
Both docks support fast charging, with three Thunderbolt 5 ports capable of delivering up to 36W to devices. The TS5 Plus also offers a 120Gbps Bandwidth Boost option. Windows users can connect up to three external displays at 4K resolutions, while Mac users can connect two displays running at 8K or 4K 240Hz resolutions.
CalDigit’s marketing executive stated that the company is monitoring tariffs and may adjust pricing if necessary, but plans to maintain current prices for now.
